Money Talk for Sapphics
Tuesday 14th April 2026 – 6-7pm BST
A live online panel discussion on the financial realities facing women loving women
Led by sapphic women, for sapphic women
About the panel talk
In this panel talk we will explore the additional challenges women in the LGBTQIA+ community face, particularly around money. We will provide practical actions that can be taken to help you build more financial stability and security, now and in the future, and show you how you can get more empowered with your finances and make the money you have worked hard to earn, work hard for you.
For many years now we have heard about the gender wealth gap/ gender pay gap/ gender pension gap; but what does that mean for single sapphics and same-sex female relationships?
Why is this important?
Because without a man in the picture, our financial landscape looks bleaker (annoyingly). Not your fault, not really his fault, but the fault of the patriarchal systems we live in.
Lower wages, smaller pensions, longer lifespans, perimenopause, menopause, paying to build a family, being responsible for looking after elderly parents and more; a long list of reasons why we can feel like we are on the lower rung of the financial ladder.
And this is before we consider sapphic women of colour, women with disabilities, migrant and immigrant women and other women who have further prejudice and restrictions placed on them for unjustified reasons.

Creating a safe and supportive space
We want to hold a safe and supportive space for our fellow sapphics where we can discuss money and begin to build a community of incredible women.
Because let’s face it, we are a pretty magical bunch!
Panel will consist of

Verity Brown (she/her) – Money Mentor at Women’s Wealth Financial Planning Ltd

El Deane (she/her) – Mortgage Broker at Yes Mortgage Services Ltd

Davinia McGann FCA, BFP (she/her) – Accountant and Founder of DaM Good Business

This is for UK based sapphic women (lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, non-binary, transexual; whatever your societal label, you’re welcome!)
