Become a Women’s Wealth Money Mentor

Take your experience further with Financial Planning

The Opportunity

You may already be helping people feel more confident about money, perhaps through coaching, financial wellbeing or another role in financial services.

You may have clients who trust you and want support that goes further, or professional experience that you would like to put to use in a different way.

Women’s Wealth gives you the opportunity to build on that experience and develop as a regulated financial planner, with the training, support and community around you to make that possible.

You do not have to start again or leave behind the skills, relationships or reputation you have already built.

The aim is not to squeeze you into somebody else’s version of a financial planning career. It is to help you build one that works for you, while making a real difference to the women you support.

Why now?

Women are increasingly controlling more of the UK’s wealth, but the financial planning profession still does not reflect the people it serves.

That gap creates a real opportunity.

More women are looking for financial advice that feels relevant to their lives, from someone who understands how money sits alongside careers, family, caring responsibilities, independence and change.

If you are already a trusted coach, you may be particularly well placed to meet that need. The listening, relationship-building and behavioural skills you already use can provide a strong foundation for financial planning.

If your experience comes from elsewhere in financial services, this can be an opportunity to use that knowledge in a more personal, relationship-led way and build something of your own.

Financial planning can give you the opportunity to build deeper, longer-term client relationships and create a business with recurring income.

This is about adding another dimension to what you already do.

Financial planning, done differently

Traditional financial services has often come with a fairly fixed idea of what a successful adviser looks like, where they work and how they build a career.

We do not think it has to be that way.

At Women’s Wealth, we believe talented women can do exceptional work when they are given the right environment to do it. That means professional standards and proper support, but also flexibility. It means being able to work remotely. It means building a business that can fit around real life. And it means being part of a community where people share ideas, ask for help, learn from one another and want each other to succeed.

You can have independence without having to do everything on your own.

Could this be right for you?

There is no single background that makes someone a good Money Mentor. What matters is an interest in helping people make better financial decisions, and the ambition to build something of your own.

You may already be working as a:

You do not need to have everything worked out before you get in touch.

You may simply be wondering whether financial planning could complement the work you already do.

If that sounds familiar, we would be happy to talk it through with you.

Why Women’s Wealth?

Women’s Wealth was created because women deserve financial advice that feels relevant to their lives.

Advice that is clear, human and practical.

Advice that understands that money does not exist in isolation. It sits alongside careers, families, caring responsibilities, relationships, ambition, independence and change.

As a Money Mentor, you can be part of changing the way women experience financial advice.

If you are an established coach, you may already have trusted clients, a strong reputation and a way of working that suits you.

If you already work in financial services, you may bring technical knowledge, industry experience and an understanding of how the profession works.

Both are valuable foundations.

Women’s Wealth helps you build on the experience you already have, while developing the knowledge and practical skills you need for regulated financial planning.

You are not starting from scratch..

A successful career should not require you to organise the rest of your life around somebody else’s idea of what work should look like.

Women’s Wealth supports remote working and a more flexible approach to building your business. For many women, that flexibility matters.

It can mean having more control over your time, being able to work from home and building a business that fits alongside the rest of your life, in an environment where talented people can do their best work.

There is a big difference between working independently and working in isolation.

Women’s Wealth Money Mentors are part of a supportive professional community.

You have other Money Mentors to learn from, share ideas with and turn to when you need another perspective.

We collaborate. We share what works. We support one another.

And we believe there is room for everyone to succeed.

Moving into regulated financial planning is a serious professional step.

There is training, development, supervision and practical experience involved. You will not be expected to figure it all out on your own.

Women’s Wealth provides a structured pathway, mentoring and professional support as you develop your knowledge and experience.

Becoming a Money Mentor can change the shape of your business.

For coaches, financial planning can extend the relationships you already have and allow you to offer clients another level of support.

For people already working in financial services, it can provide the opportunity to build your own client bank and develop a business around the way you want to work.

Either way, financial planning creates the opportunity for deeper, longer-term client relationships, broader services and recurring income as your business develops.

Choose the pathway that fits where you are now

There is no single route into Women’s Wealth.

Where you start depends on the experience, qualifications and business you already have.

Pathway 1: Build on the experience you already have

For coaches, financial wellbeing professionals and others who want to develop into regulated financial planning

You may already have years of experience working with clients, helping people make decisions or supporting their financial wellbeing.

This pathway helps you build on those skills while working towards the qualifications, knowledge and practical experience needed to become a financial planner.

If you are already a coach, you can develop regulated financial planning alongside the business and client relationships you have already built.

This pathway gives you the opportunity to:

  • Work towards the required financial planning qualification
  • Develop your technical and regulated financial planning skills
  • Gain practical experience working with clients
  • Build your own client bank
  • Develop longer-term client relationships and recurring income
  • Learn with structured training, mentoring and professional support
  • Add financial planning alongside your existing coaching work, if that is where you are starting from

For the right coach, it can feel less like changing career and more like developing the business you already have. For others, it can be the start of an entirely new direction.

Pathway 2: Accelerated development opportunity

For diploma-qualified financial services professionals ready to progress towards Competent Adviser Status

If you already hold a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or an equivalent relevant qualification and work in financial services, you may be suitable for our accelerated pathway.

This route is designed to help you turn your existing technical knowledge into practical experience, with structured training, mentoring and supervision as you work towards Competent Adviser Status.

The pathway includes:

  • Structured development
  • Mentoring and professional support
  • Practical experience
  • Support with developing a client base
  • A clear route towards adviser status

Choose the guide that fits where you are now

Not everyone comes to Women’s Wealth from the same starting point. These guides explain the different routes in more detail, so you can see which one is most relevant to you.

Meet our Money Mentors

There is no single type of person who becomes a Women’s Wealth Money Mentor.

Some come from coaching. Some come from financial services. Some are looking for a different way to use the experience they have built over many years.

What they share is a belief that women deserve financial advice that is clear, human and grounded in real life.

Verity Conserva-Brown

Before Women’s Wealth
Sixteen years in marketing, then a Masters in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I wanted to learn how money shapes people’s lives, and then put that to good use helping individuals.

Why I joined
I wanted to help women understand how to manage their money, so they can start building the life they want.

What I’m doing now
I’m a Money Mentor supporting women across the UK to feel confident about their financial future. Many of the women I work with are divorced or divorcing, approaching retirement, or simply want to make the most of the money they work hard for. I’m a Rising Star (Advice) finalist at the Women in Finance Awards 2026.

Selina Flavius

Before Women’s Wealth
I spent 15 years in business development before creating Black Girl Finance, combining my interest in investing and community building with financial coaching. I published Black Girl Finance in 2021 and launched the Black Girl Finance Festival to make money conversations more inclusive. My work has also been recognised with a British Bank Award and a WeAreTheCity Rising Star Award.

Why I joined
I met Sam when we were both speaking at an event in London and immediately felt that the Women’s Wealth mission aligned with my work at Black Girl Finance. Becoming a Money Mentor means I can support women from building confidence and financial resilience through coaching to accessing regulated financial planning and building long-term wealth.

What I’m doing now
I’m a Women’s Wealth Money Mentor alongside running Black Girl Finance. I also speak publicly about women, money and finance, contribute as a finance expert in the media, and deliver financial wellbeing workshops for companies and charities. Most importantly, I get to help clients feel more confident about their money and take practical steps towards building wealth.

A few questions you may already have

Not necessarily.

Our Money Mentors come from different backgrounds. Some already work in financial services, while others bring experience from coaching or financial wellbeing.

The right pathway will depend on the qualifications and experience you already have.

Not to start the development pathway.

If you do not yet hold the required financial planning qualification, the development pathway includes working towards it.

If you are already diploma-qualified and meet the relevant criteria, you may be suitable for the accelerated pathway.

The coaching pathway is specifically designed for established coaches who want to explore adding regulated financial planning to what they already do.

The intention is to build on your existing expertise and professional identity, not automatically replace it.

Money Mentors are self-employed and build their own client bank.

You have the independence to build your own business, with training, compliance and business development support provided through the Women’s Wealth network.

You will receive structured development, mentoring and support as you progress towards adviser status.

That depends on where you are starting from.

If you are new to financial planning, you should expect the development pathway to take around two years as you work towards the required qualification and practical experience.

If you already hold the relevant diploma and meet the criteria for the accelerated route, the programme is designed as a one-year pathway towards Competent Adviser Status.

You have already started building the skills that matter

Whether your experience comes from coaching, financial wellbeing or financial services, you may already have more of the skills needed for financial planning than you realise.

Women’s Wealth gives you the opportunity to build on that experience, develop professionally and create a business that helps more women feel clear, capable and confident about their financial future.

If you are curious about what that could look like, start with a conversation.

Interested in finding out more?

You do not need to make a big decision today.

Registering your interest is simply a chance to tell us a little about where you are now, what you are already doing and what you might like to build next.

From there, we can help you understand the different pathways and whether Women’s Wealth could be a good fit for you.
